On Tuesday 29 September 2026, France’s civil aviation authority (DGAC) ordered airlines to cut schedules at Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Marseille-Provence (MRS) as air traffic controllers and other aviation staff joined a nationwide public-sector strike over a civil-service pay freeze (AFP / The Local / BFMTV).
Where capacity was cut
At CDG, carriers were told to reduce flights by about 5% between 07:00 and 20:00 local time. At Marseille-Provence, the cut was sharper: about 25% from 16:00 until midnight. The DGAC also flagged possible disruption on some slots at Nantes-Atlantique, Strasbourg-Entzheim, Limoges, Tarbes-Lourdes and Pau, while saying other French airports should run normally.
