Vol à vide :Singapore Airlines and Scoot extend Middle East flight cancellations into December

On 1 October 2026, Singapore Airlines (SIA) and its low-cost arm Scoot extended suspensions on key Middle East passenger routes amid the region’s geopolitical uncertainty — a separate angle from same-day UAE airport delay boards and from earlier Israeli-carrier UAE restrictions.

What travellers saw

SIA cancelled SQ494 (Singapore–Dubai) and SQ495 (Dubai–Singapore) through 1 December 2026, after a prior window that had run into late October. Scoot separately held TR796 / TR797 on the Singapore–Jeddah line through 2 December. Both carriers said affected passengers may request a full refund of the unused ticket portion; SIA also warned that other flights may move while the situation stays fluid. Coverage from The Straits Times, CNA and AsiaOne matches the airline advisories.

This is a carrier schedule freeze on SIN–DXB and SIN–JED, not a ground stop at Changi and not a blanket UAE airport closure. Rebook or refund via the airline app or your travel agent before heading to the airport.

If the schedule is critical

If you must keep a Singapore–Dubai or Singapore–Jeddah itinerary and the commercial banks stay dark, a private jet or empty leg may reopen options once overflight and slot clearances allow. Rahizi qualifies the brief and returns partner options.
