Palma de Mallorca: storm delays and cancellations on 4 October

On Sunday 4 October 2026, the storm hitting Catalonia also disrupted passenger operations at Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI). Aena sources told Última Hora that the field was seeing delays and cancellations. Spanish air traffic controllers (@controladores) called it another difficult day for air operations, with significant delays and likely cancellations for safety.

What travellers saw

Aena did not publish delay averages. The operator said delays had several causes and that a flight showing late could still recover — or end up cancelled. Cancellations reported that Sunday included several services to Barcelona and one to Menorca. Aemet had a yellow warning for Mallorca’s Serra de Tramuntana, north and northeast (up to about 20 l/m² in one hour between 12:00 and 20:00). Monday 5 October was expected to be more stable on the island, but Aena noted that traffic still needs time to catch up. Always re-check the airline app before leaving for the terminal.

If the schedule is critical

When a Balearic hub is absorbing weather banks toward Barcelona, same-day connections leave little slack. If you cannot wait for the next open seat, a private jet or empty leg can bypass airline recovery churn. Rahizi qualifies the brief and returns partner options.
