Reuters and ABC reported the same construction-related line cut.<\/p>\n<h2>What travellers saw<\/h2>\n<p>Ground stops first hit <strong>Philadelphia International<\/strong>, <strong>Newark Liberty<\/strong> and <strong>Teterboro<\/strong>, then expanded to <strong>JFK<\/strong>, <strong>LaGuardia<\/strong> and Westchester County; coverage also noted a brief impact on Boston Logan. By early afternoon, FlightAware data cited by The Independent showed <strong>more than 600 delayed flights<\/strong> at Newark and Philadelphia combined (about 20% of those schedules), with some airborne flights diverted. The FAA said a replacement circuit could restore service within hours, while repairing the cut fiber itself could take around <strong>13 hours<\/strong>. This is a telecom failure, not weather and not the May 2025 Newark outage.<\/p>\n<h2>If the schedule is critical<\/h2>\n<p>Northeast bank turns and same-day connections have little slack while TRACON frequencies stay down.
